What is a shipping agent?

In short: A shipping agent buys items for you on Chinese marketplaces and ships them home to you.

How a shipping agent works

Chinese marketplaces such as Taobao, Weidian and 1688 often do not ship directly to Denmark. A shipping agent buys the item on your behalf, receives it at its warehouse in China and sends it on to you – often combined with other items in one parcel.

The typical process

1. You paste a product link with the agent
2. The agent buys the item from the seller
3. The item arrives at the warehouse, and you can see QC photos
4. You combine the items into one parcel and choose a shipping method
5. The parcel is sent to you

What does it cost?

You typically pay the item's price, any shipping within China, the agent's fees and international shipping. Customs duty and VAT may also apply when the parcel arrives. Prices and fees vary from agent to agent.

There are several shipping agents

There are several shipping agents with different prices, shipping methods and service. HipoGuide takes Hipobuy as its starting point, but many of the steps are similar across agents.
